  Did Jesus Christ exist at all?

  some of my comments (and that of others) on other threads have highlighted a basic differance between those of us who belieave jesus christ did exist, and those of us who recon he did not.

  i belieave jesus as described in the gospells did not exist.

  so i decided to start a thread that adresses this issue face on.

  Suicide and JW'S

  i have personally had experience with this.

  a long time friend committed suicide because of her husband and the problems they were having.

  he abused her and ended up leaving her, the elders wouldn't help out much stating that it was a marital problem.. she couldn't cope with him leaving, she was extremely dependant on him, she felt the only way out was suicide.

  I feel so sorry for the hardships that people go through. I only wish that more people could be rescued before the suicide.. Life is so very precious.

  i know us men aren't the most clever people on earth but sometimes we say things that are meant to be a compliment and we get slammed.. my ex-wife was saying once, that she thought her hair was getting thicker and i, in my logical way was trying to figure out if this could really be true.

  i then thought about the fact that she had recently lost wieght and without thinking any further i blurted out.... "your hair is not getting thicker your head is not as fat.".

  this is a true story.

  Do All Baptism Questions Have to be Answered Correctly in Order to Qualify?

  i'm curious about this, because it was fairly apparent that some newly baptized people didn't have a good grasp of a lot of the doctrinal points of jws.

  mind you, doctrinal points vascillate quite a lot, so that's no surprise really, but you would think that the basics would be covered prior to allowing people to get baptized, wouldn't you?.

  for instance, my brother-in-law's girlfriend didn't understand the ramifications of the blood doctrine when she got baptized (they wanted to get married in the kh, and unless she was baptized they wouldn't be allowed to do so).

  Answer: No. As long as you have the right "heart condition" as stated in another post. It is between you and GOD.

  a friend of mine at work as been getting bombarded with porn spam.

  most of the time we treat it as a joke, asking her what she's been looking at the net that generates that stuff.

  lately she's received a couple that look like child porn.

  Preaching Work Complete!!! or is it?

  in 1989, we as jw's distributed and studdied many articles in the watchtower.

  i remember one study article in particular that indicated that the preaching work would end by the end of the 20th century.

  when the year 2000 came around, i searched bound volumes and the watchtower cd, but couldn't find the statement.

  i'm wondering if there are many truly militant apostates out there....... some real god hating watchtower bashing hard guys....i just read the "bill bowen update" thread and feel that all opposition is good opposition, and knowing that the wt society can see any posts we make, also feel its a shame they can see squabbles among their enemies.

  What militant apostates? Haven't seen or read about anybody going into a Kingdom Hall and giving an old fashioned country ass whipping to the elders. The thought has crossed my mind and I am sure several other people have had more or less the same idea. "We" just have had better sense than to act on our less-than-nice thoughts.I wonder how long it will be until something in someone will "snap" and they will do the unthinkable?

  Take a look at 1968. And other "sixties" riots, protests, and general marches. Tis was a time of unrest. People wanted action and took the right to do the "action themselves. Only then did the Government step in and start to correct things and set the wheels of Justice into motion. However, many people got hurt in the process and a whole lot of wrongs were committed against innocent people.

  AFTER ALL OF THE BAD AND IN MANY CASES, HORRIBLE TREATMENT DEALT OUT TO ALL OF THE FORMER AND CURRENT JWs BY THE WTB&TS and the ELDERS;-- HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE BEFORE PEOPLE DECIDE TO ACT ON THEIR OWN?

  Oh well, I guess time will tell!
